Learn how to download, activate, and launch Stock Trader Simulator in just a few minutes.
Overview
Stock Trader Simulator is an Excel-based program that allows you to practice real trading techniques against historical market data. This short guide walks you through the download and activation process so you can begin simulating trades right away.
Download & Activation Steps
- Go to stocktradersimulator.com.
- Click on Download.
- Under License Type, select Free Trial and click Add to Cart.
- Click View Cart → Proceed to Checkout.
- Enter your email address — your activation code will be sent to you. Then click Place Order.
- You will be taken to the Order Received page.
- Copy your activation code and download the software.
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file into a folder where you want to store the program.
- Open the program, paste your activation code, then click Activate.
- Wait a moment while activation completes and the workbook loads.
Inside the Program
The simulator contains three primary worksheets:
- Stock Sheet — Enter ticker symbol and start/end date to fetch historical data.
- Invest Sheet — Place simulated trades: buy, sell, short, or cover.
- Analytics Sheet — View performance results from your simulated trading.
Once activated, the program can be used to analyze historical price behavior and learn how well your trading decisions perform over time.

Welcome to Stock Trader Simulator. In this video, we will quickly show you how to download our program and quickly get it setup. So let’s go to the website stocktradersimulator.com. Then let’s click on download. Under license type drop down menu, select Free Trial. Then click Add to Cart. Let’s now click on view cart…and then click on Proceed to Checkout.
Please type in your email address here as this will allow you to receive the activation code by email. Then click on Place order. You are now on the order received page. Now let’s copy your activation code and download the software. Let’s make a folder and extract the software where you would like to use the program.
Let’s open up the program, and paste your activation code, then click activate. We will wait for the software to finish activation and load the program. You will now see 3 distinct worksheets within this program. There is the invest sheet, stock sheet, and Analytics sheet.
You will first use the stock sheet to input your ticker symbol, and the start and end date for your analysis. Then you will go over to the invest sheet to start your simulation. The analytics sheet will provide you with your results from trading.
